Critical Role Season Four Unveils the Warriors Group
From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline featuring angels, demons, and dark forces expanding in strength within the city.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.
The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of characters who will split off from the central cast to begin their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might look out of place, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death initiated the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, above the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, wants vengeance.
- Kattigan knows the region and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
- The warrior and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the group access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter vowed a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.
Future Episodes
According to the latest episode’s follow-up content, we discover that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Seekers and Planners groups.
Audiences can look forward to learning which characters will be assigned to which table in the story’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
